Page 1 of 3 2009 Results A ReservesRound 3 Wesley Curtin 8-13-61 def by Collegians 11-9-75 This week saw us up against another promoted B grade side in Collegians. A very hot day for football was forecast and was delivered. We again started well dominating the first half but again proved very inaccurate in front of goals with 3-11 on the board at the break. We improved this in the last half but could not hold out a strong finishing Collegians who kicked 6 goals in the last quarter including one after the siren to run out winners by 14 points. We had our chances to clinch the game in the last quarter but some poor skill errors and bad decision making cost us dearly.
This game was similar to last week in that we dominated the first half and should have put Collegians away early, but inaccurate kicking kept the opposition alive. This time Collegians took that opportunity. These problems will be worked on at training this week and hopefully we will learn to put teams away when we have our chance and also shut teams down when they have their chance.
Best players were another couple of sensations in Julian Pace and Kiwi (Andrew Christensen) with Sizer stringing two great games together to round out the top three. Other good players were G/A, Bones and Serge Martin with JB, Skip, Jamie Powers, Cam Durack and Duff solid contributors.
