Match Report - E Grade v Hammersley Carine 13/6

With a spot in the five on the line, the Super 3's went in to the game against Hammersley Carine with a quiet confidence. The opposition were pumped up though and came out firing getting an early jump on the Tigers. After quarter time, the team regrouped and narrowed the margin at half time, then produced one of their better performances for the year with a blistering third term and gutsy last quarter in to the wind to record a stirring victory. With a much more direct game plan to use tall targets Humper and Paps in the forward line, the midfield (who were well beaten in the first half) slowly getting on top led by the brilliance of Smiley who revelled on the wing and a solid defence, the Tigers showed the class and potential the team has.

The boys showed great determination, resolve and experience to hold out a competitive Hammersley side. Best players were Archie putting in his best game for the year, Scottie Wilson who dominated the ruck and around the ground all day and late inclusion Troy Jeffs who snagged three brilliant goals when the game was up for grabs.
